The NBA's two biggest stories collide Thursday night when Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks face off against LeBron James and the Miami Heat in south Florida. Rumors are swirling that President Barack Obama and/or former President Bill Clinton will be at the game. Don't count on it as Clinton attended Sunday's Heat game and Obama's schedule has him in Orlando tonight. Yet the idea that two presidents might show up speaks to the hype around the game. While the NBA has cashed in on the Lin frenzy, the sports world has been waiting for Nike's next move regarding Lin. Nike signed Lin in 2010 and is the one company he has a relationship with. His Nike deal is similar to most NBA shoe deals for non stars, which include free gear and little cash. Lin visited Taiwan last summer for Nike for basketball clinics in two cities. He shot training videos for Nike basketball last summer (see clip below). He'll visit China and Taiwan this summer on behalf of Nike according to Nike CEO Mark Parker. Nike won't comment beyond this on its plans for Lin. The first Nike brand "Linsanity" t shirt hit Foot Locker stores nationwide at the end of last week. But what about a Lin sneaker? The pictures floating around the internet of a supposed Lin Nike shoe are not the real thing, but a Lin themed shoe is in the works. Don't expect it in stores this weekend when Lin plays in the Rising Stars game for TeamShaq during All Star weekend in Orlando. "You want to do this while he's hot," says Matt Powell, who tracks the sports merchandise market for SportsOneSource. But Powell warns that these things take time to get on shelves. He thinks the fastest they could get something out to the mass market is 30 days if they fly the merchandise in from Asia, instead of the usual boat trip. A Lin sneaker this year will not be a signature shoe along the lines of the LeBron 9 for LeBron James or Kevin Durant's Zoom KD IV. These shoes take months to design, manufacture and ship from Asia. Lin's shoe will be a variation on Nike's existing Hyperfuse sneaker that Lin is already wearing according to Powell. A Lin specific Hyperfuse sneaker will likely incorporate some combination of the Knicks blue and orange colors, Lin's name and his 17 jersey number. Signature shoe deals are rare in the NBA with three each at Nike (James, Durant and Kobe Bryant) and its Jordan brand (Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade). Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard have them with Adidas and John Wall with Reebok. Wall's deal is worth $25 million over five years and is on the low end for these contracts. James and Bryant both net more than $10 million annually from Nike. A new dramatically more lucrative Lin/Nike deal is likely on the horizon if Nike wants to expand its use of Lin in any marketing campaign. Reports of a contract extension already being signed are false according to CNBC's Darren Rovell. A new shoe deal will likely propel Lin to among the NBA's top earners when it comes to endorsement income. basketball shoe market according to SportsOneSource. Lin is not going to move the needle on that. He can help in China, where Nike rang up $2 billion in revenue in its fiscal year ending May, 2011. It wants to double that figure for 2013. Linsanity can help get them there. With just a few odds and ends, kids can transform themselves into whatever their dreams can conjure up. Unlike playing computer dress up games, physically playing with objects they touch and put on themselves lets children experiment, and to create and assume roles of their choice without any rules or structure. Fill a rainy day with glee by inviting some of your child's friends over, and provide them with a box of old clothing and props. Turn off the electronic entertainment, and turn on creativity and imagination. Suggest a tea party, an old West shoot out, a fashion show or a pirate ship voyage. You'll be amazed at how much fun the kids will have, and how much fun you'll have watching them and interacting with their pretend characters. Create a wardrobe box for your kids and place it where it's easily accessible. They'll love dressing up in your old clothes, shoes, hats and belts. Don't throw anything away your child's imagination can bring new life to those beat up sunglasses, and that old elastic waist skirt can become a bridal veil or an elaborate gown. Give them vintage clothes that might be tucked away in the attic or basement. Hats, scarves, hair combs, purses, fancy headbands, aprons, sports jerseys, and even an old sheet or towel can inspire their imaginations. Don't worry that clothes won't fit the kids, just let them wear stuff in whatever ways they deem appropriate. It would have been difficult to confuse the original versions of these shoes for the traditionally Native American footwear. However, when today's designers modify the original design, adding a moccasin like top stitching, it becomes increasingly easy to mistake the ballet flat for the moccasin. How the ballet flat differs is the leather cording isn't the only trim on the shoe. Designers still leave the traditional ribbon trim intact to solidify its ballerina slipper design. Additionally, there are differences in the sole, which can be made from man made materials or rubber. The moccasin like qualities this shoe retains are the comfort level and fabrication. These ballet flats tend to be made in soft leather. The spectator shoe is a white, black and sometimes brown shoe that was originally designed as a man's sports shoe. It became a popular golf shoe in the 1940s, and it wasn't until the 1950s that it began to be marketed towards women. If pegged against the original, it would be difficult to mistake this two toned shoe for a moccasin. Yet, in recent trends, designers have crossed the two designs making it possible to mistake the traditional sports shoe for its deer skin counterpart. The difference in the two shoes, other than color, is the construction. While newer versions of this spectator shoe have lost the heel, opting for the completely flat and molded moccasin sole, the spectator is still a shoe that is laced or bowed at the front. These new versions also use tougher hides to retain some of the structured qualities of the spectator shoe. Whether it is a kitten, wedge or high heel, the moccasin like heeled loafer design can often be mistaken for the traditionally flat shoe. Loafer and moccasins resemble each other, especially since they both are flat slip ons. In the height of the moccasin trend, loafers got new stitching to appear more ethnic. It was a matter of time before that flat design got a heel. These days the moccasin inspired loafer comes in many heels, and thus a new shoe trend is popping up on high fashion runways. The heel changes this shoe from the traditional moccasin into a different form of casual footwear. Add the harder hides, patent leather and man made soles and this heeled loafer hybrid is a completely different shoe. A creative moccasin inspired shoe is the new, more ethnic rain boot. The "wellie" was made popular by Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, in the early 19th century. This newer moccasin like wellie that has been fashioned out of rubber, and sometimes complimentary fabrics, has been designed to imitate some of the moccasin's aesthetics. The rubber has been molded to imitate fake leather stitching. And, some of these traditional rain boots are even embossed to have some likeness to the leather hide. Even if it is molded to look like the moccasin, these rain boots do not retain any of the intrinsic moccasin qualities. The most obvious being that while they might be a flat all weather boot, they are not made of leather or sewn in any capacity. Although you may assume that Minnetonka moccasins require extensive care to keep them looking like new because they are made of suede,.
Buy Mens Nike Kobe 9 Low EM Away,Air Jordan 6 Rings Carbon Fiber I started my new year off like so many other people by vowing to become healthy and fit. I bought some shoes that are as close to going barefoot as you can get and they are working great!I started slowly and am building my way to longer distances and faster speeds. It seems as if we are designed to run, contrary to popular belief. There are more than twenty six bones, thirty three joints and over one hundred ligaments, muscles and tendons. The arch of the foot is designed to be a perfect shock absorber when it is functioning properly, this means without shoes. When I run barefoot I don't land on my heel, I land on the ball of my foot which activates the shock absorbing arch. There has been some excellent research on the differences between running with standard running shoes and running with no shoes or minimalist footwear. I am able to continue running and pursue my new years resolution of being healthy, wealthy and wise with barefoot running. Nike Kobe 9 Low EM Away Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2012, told the Clark County Democratic Central Committee on Monday that he will not run. "For much of this year, there's been speculation about whether or not I will be running for Congress in 2012. While I greatly appreciate the support and sentiment of those who have asked me to run, and I do believe it's very important to have strong candidates fighting for our families in the 3rd Congressional District, I will not be running. My family (which is blessed to be getting bigger with a son on the way ), my community (that still inspires my service), and my work (as the only Democratic Commissioner, fighting for balance and forward thinking for Clark County), are here, not in the other Washington," Stuart wrote in an email to The Columbian. "Once again, my sincere thanks to those who have thought enough of me to ask, my apologies to those who will be disappointed by my decision, and my continued commitment to serve the people and place I love," Stuart wrote. Stuart, 40, was elected in 2010 to a second four year term on the Board of County Commissioners. The other commissioners, Republicans Tom Mielke and Marc Boldt, are up for re election next year. Stuart, who has a 21 year old son from a previous marriage, and his wife, Heather, are expecting a baby in early March. Herrera Beutler, R Camas, already has one confirmed challenger. Jon T. Haugen, a 52 year old commercial pilot for Delta Air Lines who ran for state Senate in 2008, said Monday he will run.
