Hey guys, I been having a lot of pain in my knee (patella) and I pretty sure it related to my flat feet and pretty severe overpronation. It gotten to the point that I can see my feet overpronating even when I walking home from the gym. I been doing some research and it seems like some people recommend a stability shoe, which I not crazy about due to their weight. The other option is a Nike Free or similar shoe, although I have been reading that there not a tremendous amount of support in them which could be bad? Any help would be appreciated guys, really want to get this problem sorted so I can get back to running pain free!To echo others in this thread, overpronation is not a bad thing and certainly does not cause injuries. The position in which your feet land is entirely natural and is not cause for purchasing a shoe which promises to "correct" overpronation, as if it were a problem. I say that, because I trained exclusively on duplicate pairs for my first half and really injured the tendons along my ankle because there was not enough arch support or stability in the shoe. I am flat footed and also over pronate. I currently run in a pair of Muzino and even with a stability shoe, I was continuing to have problems with my knee and IT band from being flat footed and not having the correct arch support. I went to a New Balance store, and they have foot scanners there. I purchased a pair of arch supports, which are absolutely wonderful because they have some sort of metal layer in the support themselves, which is not something I had ever seen in an arch support. The support doesn get worn down as quickly and I haven had foot inflammation or knee pain since..

There is a lot of pressure to be thin on Broadway, and I had it especially hard. I was always being cast in ingnue roles that require you to be tiny, like Cosette in Les Misrables (I was the understudy for the national tour). I'd done every fad diet in the book, and had lost and re gained 30 pounds five times over. When I finally joined Weight Watchers meetings and started following the POINTS Weight Loss System, I thought I knew all there was to know about losing weight. And I did except how to do it the healthy way. No More Restrictions Despite my doubts, it only took me one week and a few pounds gone to become hooked. I had been depriving myself my whole life, so the idea of a non restrictive diet that let me be responsible for my own choices, and that worked, just blew my mind. We are surrounded by food almost every moment of the day in this society, so I learned to fight back by being aware and planning ahead. I think being prepared is the key to success. A Healthier Attitude Toward Exercise My exercise philosophy changed, too. I was always athletic, but in the past I used extreme exercise to clean up the day's eating mistakes. I now know that I should exercise to feel better and work off stress, not as an excuse to eat as much as I can. The Day My Life Changed The week before I achieved Weight Watchers Lifetime Membership status, the woman at the scale, who happened to be the Manhattan Territory Manager, told me that I should become a Weight Watchers leader. I knew instantly that she was right. After that, my entire life changed. I'm fulfilled in a way that I never was by acting. Not only do I no longer carry around the unhappiness of that extra weight, but I am helping people every day. I'm just the one who delivers the Weight Watchers message, but to help people learn how to make positive changes in their lives is what I've wanted to do all my life. Every morning I stock my purse with homemade sandwiches that have a POINTS value of 3 and an assortment of fresh sliced fruit. These snacks come in handy when I'm in places like the huge Manhattan Macy's, where there's tempting food on every floor, from cinnamon buns to burgers. Favorite fast dinner: A steamed head of cauliflower pureed with chicken broth, sauted onions and garlic and spices. It's a delicious cup of comfort food with a POINTS value of zero! It helps to think of the POINTS system like a game once you get the hang of it, it's so much easier and less intimidating than counting calories. My perception of Weight Watchers totally changed when I joined meetings and subscribed to Weight Watchers eTools. A lot of young people are getting into it these days, especially now that there are these great online tools. Bryant wrapped up a magnificent series with 37 points, Ron Artest added 25 and the Lakers held off the Phoenix Suns 111 103 on Saturday night to win the Western Conference finals. The Lakers and Celtics, the NBA's premier teams for much of the league's history, will meet in the finals for the 12th time with Game 1 Thursday night in Los Angeles. They are the NBA champions each of the last two years Boston beat the Lakers two years ago, and Los Angeles topped Orlando last season. "We'll see how much we matured," Bryant said. "They challenged us extremely well in the finals a couple years ago. Now is a chance to see how much we've grown." Bryant scored nine points in the final 2 minutes, including what looked like an impossible 23 footer with Grant Hill in his face and 34 seconds to play. The basket put Los Angeles up 107 100 and the scrappy Suns were finished. The Lakers will be in search of their 16th NBA championship in their 31st finals appearance. Amare Stoudemire, in what may have been his last game with the Suns, scored 27 points but struggled to a 7 of 20 shooting night. He can opt out of the final year of his contract and has said chances are "50 50" that he will play elsewhere next season. Steve Nash added 21 points and nine assists in his 118th playoff game, the most for anyone who has never reached the finals. Bryant, with his 10th 30 point performance in his last 11 postseason games, moved ahead of Jerry West and into a tie with Kareem Abdul Jabbar for second most 30 point playoff games at 75. He has a ways to go for the record of 109 held by Michael Jordan. Bryant also extended his NBA record to eight straight 30 point closeout games on the road. "I always thought he was the best player in basketball," Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry said. Channing Frye had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Suns, who have reached the finals only twice in their history and never have won a championship. Goran Dragic scored 10 of his 12 points in a fourth quarter rally that got Phoenix within three points. The Lakers led by as many as 18 late in the second quarter and were up by 17 entering the fourth. But four Suns reserves plus Stoudemire got the Suns back into it after Los Angeles took a 91 74 lead into the fourth quarter. "With a 3 point shooting team like Phoenix," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said, "you know that any lead is not impossible." With Bryant on the bench for a brief rest, Dragic scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to slice Los Angeles' lead to 91 82 with 10:27 left. The Lakers' Sasha Vujacic drew a flagrant foul for an elbow to the face of his fellow Slovenian with 11:18 to play. Dragic made both free throws, then blew by Vujacic for a layup to cut it to 91 80 with 11:12 left. Dragic drove for another layup the next time as Bryant made a hasty return to the court. Gentry stayed with the lineup, and the run reached 16 4 on Stoudemire's layup after a slick pass from Dragic under the basket to cut it to 95 90 with 6:09. Nash and Jason Richardson finally re entered the game with 3:26 to play and Los Angeles leading 99 92. Stoudemire made two free throws, then Nash cut it to 99 96 on a layup with 2:19 left. Bryant sank a 21 footer, Lamar Odom stole Nash's pass and Bryant made two free throws to stretch it to 103 96 with 1:43 to go. Four straight points by Stoudemire cut it to 100 95 with 53.1 seconds left, but Bryant responded with his dagger over Hill and the surprising playoff run of the undersized, overmatched Suns was over. "I just got a little separation," Bryant said, smiling. Los Angeles outscored the Suns 23 10 over the last eight minutes of the second half to lead 65 53 at the break. After Nash threw up an air ball in the half's waning seconds, Bryant sank a 3 pointer with 12.9 seconds left to give the Lakers the 12 point lead, their largest of the half, to the cheers of the surprisingly large and loud contingent of Los Angeles fans in the otherwise all orange crowd. Phoenix cut the lead to single digits only once in the third quarter, 74 65 on Stoudemire's two free throws with 5:38 left. The Lakers responded with an 11 2 run, Artest's layup in traffic making it 85 67 with 2 1/2 minutes remaining in the quarter. Los Angeles led 91 74 entering the fourth. But my feet were so sweaty in my Crocs today, they squeaked sooo loudly as I made a beeline toward the bathroom at Home Depot today. He asked if I was doing ok. I think he was asking if I needed help finding lumber, etc. But I laughed to myself. No, I'm not doing ok, but thanks for asking. If you find a solution, Id love to hear it. Scared I am going to slip out of my shoes and get hurt. Seruoisly. ;) I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and started to experience this disgusting sweaty hands and sweaty feet thing about 2 months ago. it was on and off but for the past week it's been EXTREME. I work in a cool office setting and my hands and feet are constantly sweaty! I work as an Executive Assistant and am extremely busy, working on several projects at once. stressful but I am USED TO THAT. I am noticing that it's worse here at work than at home. I hate it! I am afraid to shake people's hands now and my feet are starting to smell too towards the end of the day. LOL It's embarrassing and pretty gross. I knew this was because of my pregnancy but was hoping that I could just deal with it and or ignore it but its become a major problem for me. makes me sad. as if being pregnant and having to walk around with this big belly and swelling feet was not enough. I am very happy to have this precious baby girl inside of me, and I can't wait to meet her. hoping she is healthy. This whole sweaty hands and sweaty feet thing is just horrible. I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE! I developed Hyperhidrosis while I am pregnant. did not have this before (had 2 babies) and it's been horrible!!! +++ATTENTION++ I am happy to report that after doing allot of research, I actually found something that works! I am using this technique on my feet only, they were worst than my hands. This has helped with the sweating (my feet stay more dry now) and it completely helps with the odor. Here is what I've been doing: Every morning after I shower (make sure you wash and dry your feet) I squirt a good amount of rubbing alcohol on the bottom of my two feet. I then apply a Powder Fresh Scent deodorant (powder base NOT gel). I am using a maximum streigth Studio 35 Beauty deodorant that I found which has a high Aluminum Zirconium Trichiorohydrex gly ( 20%). The combination of the alcohol and deodorant is working great together without causing any irritation and orexcessivedryness. I heard about another great deodorant called Drysol which has to beprescribedby your doctor. It containsAluminum chloride (20%)and alcohol. Very similar to what I am doing with a specific deodorant and alcohol. I hope this can help someone!!

They must support the "ring for the King" quest "all together," or face the possibility of his abdication. But is a challenge to LeBron James, too, and not just to his court and loyal subjects. For seven seasons, James has connected Cleveland to basketball, always before a footnote in the city's sports history, on a level not seen since the "Miracle of Richfield" in 1976. Which, of course, comprised a playoff berth for a team that had missed it by one game the year before, along with one playoff series victory. Miracles in Cleveland are a little below changing lake water into wine and gold.Joshua Gunter / The Plain DealerTwice this postseason, LeBron James has shown a "game face" that suggested he would not allow the Cavaliers to lose that night. When, Bill Livingston wonders, will that look appear before every tipoff?James, however, seemed to be the real miracle worker. In his fourth season, he took the Cavs to The Finals. With him, it was not just about results, but also about the vicarious thrill of seeing one of the great athletes of his time take a game and turn it into something approaching art. If you do not think basketball is as close as sports get to ballet, then watch again James' mid air work with an off course alley oop pass in the third game of the series. But by the seventh season with a franchise player, it must be about winning. Michael Jordan scratched the seven year itch and won his first NBA championship. Seven was also the magic number for Julius Erving, whose No. 6 James says he will wear next year, having paid his homage to Jordan's No. 23.Both had better help. Jordan had Scottie Pippen, and Erving had Moses Malone. But James, still only 25, has the advantage of his youth. Jordan was 28, Erving 33, in their first NBA championship seasons. The biggest separation between James and Jordan is the six rings. But a difference in inner drive might be a factor, too.It is hard to imagine Jordan, or for that matter, Erving, after being so often denied, after waiting so long, saying at any time in their first title season, "Oh, no. Please. After you. I insist. I will wait my turn."But after the third game rout of the Celtics in Boston, James said, "Well, being on the road, mindsets change, personnel changes. I think you can afford, saying myself can afford, to play the back role a little bit at home. Guys are more confident at home, guys shoot the ball sometimes better at home. You can feed off the crowd. It enables [players] to not do as much offensively and then wait 'til the second half, wait 'til the fourth quarter and then close games out."This is just another example of the bad habits the Cavs picked up during the regular season. It is reminiscent of the Los Angeles Lakers, only without the Lakers' championship rings from a year ago to prove it can be done that way. There are many reasons why this series is tied, 2 2, but a big one has been the Cavs' lackluster starts. James said of the ferocious third game start, "On the road you can't [wait] because honestly it's just you and your teammates, the coaching staff and friends and family that has come here for the game. So it started with me and then everyone seen my aggression and just took advantage of it."Jordan, by comparison, was borderline pathological in his need to win. He always tried to seize the moment.James still has amazing series numbers (29 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists) despite an elbow in which pain flares up and then subsides, and despite the lackadaisical starts. That is how good he is.But a team's best player is not always its emotional leader. Rajon Rondo is the Celtics' best player, but Kevin Garnett is their emotional leader. Same with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah on the Bulls. It is not clear yet that the fun loving James, a dance machine on the sideline until toning it down recently, is filling both roles optimally. This series is supposed to be intensely personal. Wasn't Boston the team James, the NBA's Most Valuable Player the last two seasons, and his teammates wanted? Weren't James and Garnett exchanging taunts after the final regular season game between the teams? It sure seemed personal then.Jordan often invented slights by others to increase his motivation. When it got truly personal with him, he didn't feed off anything but his internalized resentments and competitive rage. Those he channeled into nearly unimaginable displays of dominance.
