While reading your story, what stood out to me was the clear amount of distress you are feeling emotionally (not to mention physically). Anti anxiety and anti depression medication can be wonderful, but it doesn seem to help a great deal of people. Think of it holistically. The mind body link has been clearly established and forms a feedback loop of sorts. Why would you only treat the issues related to brain chemistry and ignore the psychological and more personal side of things? If money is a concern, please PM me for resources. I would be more than happy to help you find free or reduced cost counseling, in addition to helping you find a counselor who suits YOUR needs and wants in a therapeutic relationship instead of having to blindly decide based upon insurance or location. There is a wealth of research that points toward the clear importance of the therapeutic alliance trumping a variety of other clinical factors. Our administrators took a stand on everyone wearing sandals and flip flop style shoes at the beginning of the school year and it has been an all out war ever since. As one of the 6 expectant mommies at our school right now, I feel like we have been the casualities in this war. While I fully understand the importance of looking like the professionals we are as teachers, when you are pregnant and swollen it is unfair to expect you to adhere to the footwear part of the dress code policy. My feet look like elephant feet right now and I cannot even put them into any type of shoe that goes over the top of my foot. There are even certain type of flip flop style shoes that I can't wear if the straps come down too far over the top of my feet. I wear a size 11 shoe so going up a size is not an option for me. When I expressed this to my administrator she requested to meet with me and "inspect" my feet. I was LIVID!!! However, I proceeded to get a note from my dr and met with her the following day for my "inspection". When she saw my feet, I think she immediately felt foolish. When I responded yes he stated that he is not surprised because from his experience female supervisors give pregnant women a harder time than male supervisors. I thought that was interesting. I'm sorry for the long post but I just needed to vent. I always thought being in the business of working with children and families that principals would be more understanding when it came to teachers growing their own families but I'm quickly finding out that is not the case at my school. Has/is anyone experiencing the same type of challenge with their administrators?? I'm so sorry! school started back this week mine have been really swollen. I wake up in the morning and they're still swollen (although not as bad as when I get home from work). My principal (also a female) has always expressed her distaste for flip flops, but I went to her before school started and discussed it. I told her I would try to wear professional looking shoes in the mornings, but once the swelling gets bad I'll be switching to flip flops. That worked for about 1 day and now the swelling starts off too bad for regular shoes. Can you try to wear regular shoes when you're out in the halls and slip into "class shoes"? Or does your admin spend a lot of time in classes? It is physically impossible for me to put my feet into shoes at all. I've even tried Crocs and I can't get them into anything! My feet look the same in the morning as they do in evening. They may go down while I'm lying down during the evening but the moment I'm back on my feet they balloon right back up. I've invested in several pair of more dressy flip flop style sandals that at least I don't look like I'm going to the beach when I come to work and she seems to be ok with that for now. Blach!!! I lived in my flip flops for quite a while before my son was born. I'm glad that your principal gave you permission after 'inspecting' your feet, but that is ridiculous and moronic!!! You know, IMHO. Anyway, my principal didn't have any issues with the flip flops, and I'm grateful for that. Good luck, please try to sit down as much as you can to get the weight off your feet (I know, it sounds silly, I was fussed at a lot at my school by all the Grandmas to sit down and take it easy my son did come 3 weeks early, so I think I probably should have listened!!) I wore some of the more "dressier" Sketchers gym shoes most days. Don't know if your feet would fit since they go over the toes, but I like the support. When it got hot, I chose dressier style flip flop sandals. I too wear size 11's. I delivered in July so I didn't have to teach through the end of my pregnancy. I found that I did better walking around than I did sitting or standing still, but most of my discomfort came from back pain. Men Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 Pure Platinum Reflect Silver Soar Blue,Conditioning your leather upholstery is vital to maintaining its supple look and feel. Conditioning products all require a different set of procedures to ensure their proper use. Generally, the conditioning process involves applying the conditioner to dry leather with a clean cloth, allowing the conditioner to set in for approximately 20 minutes and then wiping away. Saddle and Tack Conditioner is one of many conditioners used specifically for treating and maintaining saddles, harnesses and other heavy leathers used with animals and agriculture. Keep leather out of direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. Sun is known to cause leather to "sun burn," causing accelerated rates of cracking and drying. Microfibers are synthetic fibers that are smaller in diameter than typical suede or other fibers, thus making the fabric light, resilient, strong and durable. While microfiber is relatively easy to maintain, it also can present challenges when cleaning. Since microfiber may contain several kinds of materials, you will want to read the manufacturer's guidelines before proceeding. The tags often say W, S, S W or X. W means that you can use water as the primary base of your cleaning solution; S indicates that you should use a solvent based cleaner; and S W denotes both water or solvent based cleaners may be used. One type of cleaner used especially for textile and coated microfiber fabrics is Renew Textile Protector. This product will keep fabrics looking clean and new. After the surface has been vacuumed, the textile protector is applied gently to the fabric with a brush or sponge. Once the product has dried, the surface is vacuumed once more and ready for use again. Note that Renew Textile Protector is not for use with leather, silk or vinyl. Suede is one of the more difficult textiles to maintain. It is damaged easily and, once damaged, is difficult to renew. One way to clean suede is by steaming it. Hold the steamer approximately six inches above the fabric and brush the surface with the attached brush. Avoid soaking the suede; instead use the heat primarily for cleaning. Brush in the direction of the suede. After steaming the suede, you may use a fine sandpaper to make the suede look rough again. Often times, suede becomes smooth due to friction or the wearing of the fibers; sandpaper gain can revive the suede in this instance. Cleaning codes are listed on most furniture tags as a way to instruct the owner. Dyes or backings on some upholstery fabrics may not be visible to the owners; many fabrics also may be affected by water or spot cleaners. General upkeep guidelines include blotting up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the possibility of staining. Even stain resistant finishes offer only moderate protection. Never remove your cushion covers for separate washing or dry cleaning; this may destroy the upholstery backing or shrink the fabric. If overall cleaning is necessary, obtain a professional cleaning. The Albuquerque resident was ordered held on $75,000 bail. Just as the St. Police say worshippers screamed as Capener stabbed several people just as Mass was ending at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Four parishioners were injured, including church choir director Adam Alvarez and flutist Gerald Madrid, police spokesman Robert Gibbs said. All four were being treated at hospitals and listed in stable condition. Three other church members also were evaluated by Albuquerque Fire Department on scene and didn't go to the hospital, investigators said. Mass on the city's Westside. Investigators don't yet know whether Capener had ties to the victims or whether he regularly attended the church, Gibbs said. An off duty firefighter and others at the church held Capener down until police arrived. Madrid told KOB TV that he tried to stop Capener by placing him in a bear hug but was stabbed in the neck and back. "I bear hugged him. We were chest on chest. I was wrapping about to take him down to ground, but I didn't have his arms. I had just my arms around his chest, so his arms were free. So that's when he started stabbing me," he said. Madrid said he thought the suspect was punching him. It wasn't until other parishioners rushed the man, that Madrid realized he had been stabbed five times. The choir's pianist, Brenda Baca King, told KRQE TV that the attacker was looking at the lead soloist. "I just remember seeing him hurdle over the pews, hurdle over people and run (toward) us and I thought, Oh my God, this is not good,"' Baca King said. John C. Daniel, who was celebrating the Mass, told The Albuquerque Journal that the stabbing was "random." He said he had seen Capener in the church before but did not recognize him as a regular parishioner. Daniel said he didn't see the attack because he had turned his back away from the congregation in order to return the sacrament in the tabernacle. Archbishop of Santa Fe Michael Sheehan released a statement Sunday afternoon saying he was saddened by the attack. "This is the first time in my 30 years serving as archbishop in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and as Bishop of Lubbock, that anything like this has occurred," Sheehan said. "I pray for all who have been harmed, their families, the parishioners and that nothing like this will ever happen again," Sheehan said. Men Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 Pure Platinum Reflect Silver Soar Blue Matt from Green Bay, WI You mentioned that incentives are divided into likely to be earned and not likely to be earned. Let's say a team is tight against the cap and enough players satisfy their NLTBE incentives, could this put a team over the cap limit? If so, what kind of punishment does this bring the team? When NLTBE incentives are met, they count against the next year's cap. If a team loads up on NLTBE incentives, which would be a way of moving money into the next year, it could run into a problem the following year. This would be an example of reckless cap management and responsible managers wouldn't do something like this. If it did happen, it could cause a team to re structure contracts and push even more money deeper into the future, and now you're in the death spiral. What happens when it gets so bad that you've lost control of your cap and you can't get under? The league comes in and begins voiding contracts, in chronological reverse order, until you're under the cap. What happens if voiding contracts only makes the situation worse because the amortization accelerates into the current year and, ultimately, you can't get under the cap? Nobody knows because it's never happened. It's believed, however, that back in 2006 a certain team was in that exact situation, and got lucky when the league agreed to a new CBA that allowed more restructuring. Jason from Austin, TX When reading articles about what NFL teams are doing, most of the information is coming from an inside source from the team. I was wondering, why would someone from within the team leak information to the media? You're the GM of a team and you have a player you'd like to trade. If you leak information the reporter agrees to protect your anonymity that you might be willing to part with that player, you'll be able to gauge the interest in that player based on what teams call you to inquire about his availability. In other words, you're using the media to deliver a message. In this case, you're using the message to bait a hook. Coaches have long used the media to send messages to their players. A coach leaks to a reporter that a young player is pushing hard for playing time. All of a sudden, the older player the young player is pushing for playing time begins playing better. Have I allowed myself to be used? Absolutely. Why would I do that? Because it's understood that there's a trust factor involved. If you're going to use me to carry a message, then I'm going to want something in return. It's also understood that the message I'm carrying is the truth. That trust must not be broken. It's how the business works. Brian from Winterset, IA Why don't the Packers scouts look at CFL All Stars to fill roster voids? They do. The pro personnel department of every team is responsible for the scouting of every player in professional football and for those that have gone through the draft and are on the "street." Kody from Louisville, KY I know you have said most receivers are a dime a dozen but that Calvin Johnson is one of the truly great receivers. Who are the others you consider to be special? Larry Fitzgerald immediately comes to mind. I think Andre Johnson is really special and only needs a postseason platform to hammer home that point. Matt from Indianapolis, IN When a GM wants to move back in a draft, does he call other teams that are in the position he wants to move back to or does he have to wait for some clubs to call him and make an offer? Teams call each other in the days leading up to the draft; a team is likely to call every team in the league the day before the draft, so to speak, just to touch base and have a friendly conversation that might cause that team, when it's on the clock, to say to itself, "Hey, so and so called and he might be willing to trade." Teams are very aggressive in trying to fit themselves to the picks they've targeted. They work the phones all week and all through the draft. All teams want to stay as close as possible to their value lines. Even the need drafting teams want to stay close to their value lines because nobody wants to overpay for a guy. There are what I refer to as "companion teams." I'm talking about teams that often trade with each other to help each other fit themselves to their picks. They usually have friends in each other's personnel departments. Sean from Grand Prairie, TX I'm a little confused as to how the big market teams are passing their player costs off to the small market teams? I thought each team was responsible for its own player salaries? When the new Giants and Cowboys stadiums opened, the increase in revenue they generated caused the salary cap to increase equally across the board. That's a burden the small market teams were forced to share equally with every other team in the league, even though the small market teams don't possess the same potential for generating that kind of revenue. In an abstract way, you could say the Giants and Cowboys got the money, the small market teams got the bill. This is why we have revenue sharing for small market/low revenue teams, but I don't see how it'll be able to keep pace with the revenue the big market teams will continue to increase. Cody from Windsor, Ontario Hey, Vic, a lot of teams had some players restructure their contracts or released players with big cap hits. Why do you think the Packers didn't do this with some of their players to free up some cap space? Because they don't want to steal from the future to pay for the present. If more of us thought that way, we wouldn't have so many people with credit card debt. Nick from De Pere, WI In a lot of your forums you have been saying the game is changing to a passing offense. I agree. However, what is your take on Arian Foster? I do believe the Texans offense would dwindle without him and he shows that the running game can still exist in today's league. The Texans use Foster as a complement to their passing attack. They run delays and draws. They influence block and run cutbacks, trying to get him out into space. They make defenses play run as they're playing pass, which is the opposite of the old days when offense tried to make defense play pass as it was playing run. Houston doesn't employ a power running game; it's a space, finesse running game. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't help the passing game as much as the passing game helps the running game. The Ravens and 49ers pound the ball the old fashioned way. They make you play run and that allows them to sell play action and throw downfield. In my tortured and outdated way of thinking, if you're not running the ball with power, you're not running the ball. In my mind, the running game is all about imposing your will. It's about defeating your opponent's spirit. Holger from Guayaquil, Ecuador How should you grade a BAP draft team or GM? I think it has to be by the number of players drafted that become stars or at least starters on your team. How long do you wait to measure that? You measure a BAP draft according to quality and depth. If it produces stars at the top and depth in the back, then that's as good as can be expected. Is that going to happen every year? No way. Some years will produce a star player and not much depth, or vice versa. It's the cumulative effect of years of drafting that is the true measure of a BAP drafter. BAP drafters build good rosters. They can look back over 5 6 years of drafting and see a haul of talent. In contrast, need drafting is judged yearly on its success or failure in selecting a player that addressed a need and upgraded that position.
